ITEM CHARACTERISTICS ANALYSIS USING THE RASCH MODEL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING LITERACY INSTRUMENTS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS STUDENTS

Literacy is a basic reading skill in modern society. The development of literacy questions needed to be useful as an assessment function. needs pay attention the principle conformity with indicators and characteristics items. A total 167 fifth grade elementary school students were sampled test instrument for test. Instrument testing was carried out two stages; first, content validity by seven experts, secondly analysis model fit item difficulty determine characteristics. results showed that based on expert judgment, 17 items valid 1 had moderate validity. Items are S18 classified evaluating reflecting type at level 6. Further using Rasch obtained 2 very easy category, 14 difficult category category. With distribution levels, 11% questions, 78% 6% questions.
